How #LighttheWorld helps our family find peace

Last fall my handsome husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and we were struggling to keep our heads above water. I knew that if wanted to tap into some spiritual strength we would need to serve.
It seems backwards, but we have learned time and time again that meaningful service brings peace. It heals wounds and gives you a deep and abiding love for those around you. Serving others (and recognizing the service we received almost daily) helped us feel connected to our Father in Heaven and see the light...even through the hardest parts of our cancer story. Watch the video below to see how we incorporated #lighttheworld into our holiday.
Mormon.org has laid out a beautiful plan for us to follow. Just click the link to see the full calendar. As a family, we watch the short videos each morning and talk about ways we can #lighttheworld that day. At dinner, we recap the day and talk about what we did and how it helped us feel closer to Christ. Some days are full of service, others aren't; but we try. We try every day to come a little closer to Him.
If you're looking for ways to help your family serve, there are dozens of free files on my site. Just click the link below to view them all. I hope they help you find the same peace they offered us.
