Over the last several weeks I’ve been adjusting my scripture study to seek for joy. I find every reference I can to joy/rejoicing and then search the text for clues about where that God-like happiness came from. It’s been amazing to me to see how joy is woven into every story and bursts out from almost every page - when I’m seeking it. It is everywhere. It’s in the stories of repentance, the passages of pure doctrine, the verses about difficult, drawn-out struggles and the verses about hard-won peace.
This May I will have the incredible opportunity to share what I’ve learned at @byu Womens Conference. I’ll be speaking about what I’ve gleaned from these beautiful pages and my own mistake-riddled life experiences.
I’ve gone to Women’s Conference for years with my sisters and Mom so the weight of this opportunity isn’t lost of me. I know I have a lot to learn before I can speak what is needed. And thankfully, I also know that if I put in the work and try to weave joy-seeking into my crazy kid-filled world, He will guide me to the right words. He will multiply my time and my talents to make what I say enough.
I sincerely hope you’ll come join me. It will be scary and intimidating - but it will also be the realization of a big dream of mine. I love teaching the gospel. More than that, I love studying the gospel with the intent to share what I learn. Add in the infectious atmosphere of Women’s Conference, talks from others like President Nelson and the Gen RS Presidency, (and the endless mint brownies) and it’s hard to imagine a better day.
Over the next few months I’ll be sharing some of my studies in my posts and stories. If you can join us in Provo, let me know so I can watch for you. If not, keep an eye out for these Sunday posts so I can share some of my favorite joy-finds with you. I can’t wait to dig in and learn with all of you! Happy Sunday, everyone. #byuwomensconference #sharegoodness #seekjoy
