Oh the joy of shopping with toddlers. They're too big to sit in the front basket and take up too much valuable space when they sit in the big basket. To keep them corralled and save space, I have them stand next to the front basket and connect the strap around their backs. I'm not sure Home Depot would approve, but it sure gave me more space for my painting gear. 👍
