Each page of the book has one spell with a fun, "Harry Potter-esque" name and a simple explanation of the effect of the spell

To create the wands featured in the pictures:

1. Use chopstick or similarly-sized dowels. Rough up the smooth surface and create a blunt point with a vegetable peeler or pocket knife.

2. Use a hot glue gun to create a handle design on one end of the wand.

3. After the glue cools, coat the wand and the glue with acrylic paint. The glue may need two coats of paint.

4. Fold the spell book and add a hole to the top left corner. Slide a string through the hole and tie the spell book to the wand.
